Information we collect

• Email address. When you subscribe to our newsletters—on the Site, through a pop-up, or via a Facebook/Instagram (Meta) lead ad—we collect the email address you provide and your list preferences (for example, whether you want the open-mic list).
• Show submissions & promotions. If you submit a show or purchase a promotional placement, we collect the details you enter (show info, links, images, your name, email, and phone if provided).
• Payment information. Purchases are processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number; we retain a record of the transaction (amount, status, and a payment reference).
• Usage analytics. We use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate traffic (pages viewed, approximate location, device/referrer). This is collected in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.

Signups from Facebook / Instagram ads

If you sign up through a Meta lead form, Meta shares the contact information you submitted (such as your email address) with us so we can add you to the newsletter you requested. Meta’s handling of your data is governed by its own privacy policy. We use the information only as described here.

How we use your information

• Send the comedy show and open-mic newsletters you subscribed to.
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Site and its listings.
• Process and support promotional placements and payments.
• Respond to your messages and requests.
• Detect, prevent, and address abuse, fraud, or technical issues.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Site, and only as needed for them to perform their service:

• Resend — email delivery (newsletters and transactional email).
• Supabase — database hosting for subscribers and show data.
• Stripe — payment processing for promotions.
• Netlify — website hosting and delivery.
• Meta — lead ads, if you sign up through one.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

Cookies

We keep cookies to a minimum. Our analytics are designed to work without tracking cookies, and we do not use third-party advertising cookies. A secure session cookie is used only for site administrators when logging into the admin area.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe anytime. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing stops all marketing emails.
• Access or deletion. You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing help@austincomedyshows.com.

Data retention & security

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the Site and the emails you signed up for, or as required by law. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect it, though no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children’s privacy

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
